Real businesses, real rebuilds.
My own events business and its carnival band first — where everything is tested — then the small businesses I've worked with directly.
Nik's Kitchen
The challenge
Nik's Kitchen was taking orders manually over WhatsApp, with no online payment and no consistent system for capturing recipe quantities in the kitchen. It's a strong, premium product without the operational backbone to scale it.
What I did
- Designed and built online ordering with card payment at checkout
- Built an Airtable operations backbone connecting orders to the kitchen
- Created a recipe and quantity capture workflow so batch cooking scales cleanly
- Added a subscription option for repeat customers
- Kept WhatsApp as a community channel rather than an order channel
- Refreshed the brand and design system, including a heritage-badge visual identity route
The result
Nik's Kitchen moved from manual, message-by-message ordering to a fully automated online ordering and subscription system, with a brand identity built to match the premium quality of the food. The store is now live and taking orders.
A pro-audio hire business
The challenge
After more than four decades trading on reputation, this client's brand and website hadn't kept pace with newer, sharper-looking competitors in the pro-audio hire market.
What I did
- Ran a full competitor audit of UK PA hire websites
- Rebuilt the brand with new design guidelines
- Wrote a website specification and platform recommendation
- Modelled the fee structure and budget for the rebrand
The result
The client came away with a modern brand identity and a clear, budgeted roadmap to relaunch its digital presence — built to reflect 40+ years of expertise rather than hide it.
